Peter Jurik was born in Czechoslovakia. When young, he and his family escaped from their home, fleeing to Austria, leaving behind all of their belongings. They left due to the aggressions of the Soviet Union, just prior to the 1968 invasion of Czechoslovakia. Peter has resided in Canada since that time and lives in Vancouver, BC, Canada. He is best known for his realistic watercolor paintings and pencil drawings, and in particular, for his attention to detail.

• Each rose stands for one year of her life. Roses also refer to Amy as an English rose.
